Sam Larson is a freelance artist based in the Pacific Northwest. His work is mainly inspired by the Western United States, the old-west. He created a brand for his artwork called "Steel Bison". The majority of his following comes from his social media, namely Instagram and Twitter. He also manages a store where he sells various products adorned by his designs.

He takes inspiration from his surroundings, including nature landscapes and animals, but also vintage travel souvenirs. Early on in his career, he gained popularity posting his work on Instagram, mostly small sketches in ballpoint pen. He became well-known for his unique style, which most commonly combined nature scenes with wildlife images. One of his most popular series is shown below:
